Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 Gombe State governorship election.
He won the party’s repeat governorship primary held across the state on Tuesday.
Pantami won the direct primary conducted in 114 wards across the 11 local government areas of the state with 2,024 votes.
His closest challenger, Ahmed Khamisu Mailantarki, polled 389 votes, while Usman Aliyu Garry secured 112 votes.
Announcing the results at the Gombe State PDP Secretariat on Tuesday evening, the Chairman of the Primary Election Committee from the PDP national headquarters in Abuja, Hon. Johnbull Shekarau, commended party members for the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
The repeat primary followed an order by the Federal High Court in Gombe directing the party to conduct a fresh governorship primary.
The exercise has now produced a PDP governorship flag bearer for the 2027 general election in the state.
