Sokoto State Governor, Ahmed Aliyu, has emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean environment, saying no city can truly live up to its name if it remains in a state of filth.
The governor made this assertion while presenting the keys of nine brand-new refuse collection vehicles to the Managing Director of Biofil-Technology Nigeria Limited, Mr. Ibukun Taiwo, who has been contracted to ensure the cleanliness of the Sokoto metropolis.
Represented by his Deputy, Engr Muhammad Idris Gobir Governor, Aliyu explained that a clean environment is crucial for a healthy society, and the state government is determined to beautify and clean the metropolis.
The new vehicles are in addition to the eleven existing ones, and the company has also been provided with sanitation materials, including cleaning kits, household dustbins, and safety gear.
The Managing Director of Biofil-Technology Nigeria Limited, Mr. Ibukun Taiwo, pledged the company’s readiness to make the best use of the vehicles and materials provided.
The initiative is part of the state government’s efforts to ensure a clean and healthy environment for its citizens.
