In a celebration of transformative leadership, the Federated Organization of Sokoto State Students’ Association (FOSOSSA), has hailed Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s two-year administration as a game-changer for the education sector in Sokoto State.
At press conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Sokoto, the President of FOSOSSA Comrade Yusuf Sabiu, says Governor Aliyu has demonstrated unwavering commitment to the welfare of students in Sokoto State.
“We gathered here today to celebrate the governor’s two years of purposeful leadership, which has had a significant impact on the education sector in Sokoto State,” Comrade Sabiu said.
During his two-year tenure, Governor Aliyu has achieved numerous milestones in the education sector.
He has restored electricity supply to state-owned tertiary institutions, paid debts owed to students, and provided tuition fees for international students.
He further explained that the governor has also maintained a continuous allowance for medical and engineering students, repaired water pumps and structures at various institutions, and facilitated the accreditation of programs at state-owned institutions.
He disclosed that Governor Aliyu’s administration has released funds for JAMB/DE forms and pre-JAMB training, and supported students in various other ways.
He said these achievements have significantly improved the quality of education in Sokoto State, providing students with better opportunities for growth and development.
Comrade Sabiu expressed gratitude to Governor Aliyu and his special adviser on students’ matters, Hon. Abubakar Muhammad Salame, for their unwavering support and dedication to the welfare of students.
He called on students and stakeholders to continue working together to promote educational empowerment, peace, and unity in Sokoto State.
With Governor Aliyu’s administration marking its two-year anniversary, the education sector in Sokoto State has witnessed significant transformation.
As the state continues to move forward, students and stakeholders are optimistic about the future of education in Sokoto State.
