The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Women in Media, under the leadership of its National Coordinator, Hannatu Suleiman Abba, welcomed Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the immediate past Deputy Governor of the State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam and other prominent political leaders to the party.
In a statement yesterday, Hannatu said the defection of Kwankwaso into the ADC marks a significant milestone in strengthening democratic participation and broadening inclusive political engagement in Nigeria.
She said, “The inclusion of experienced leaders such as Senator Kwankwaso into the ADC family reflects a renewed commitment to progressive governance, national unity, and people-centered leadership.
“ADC Women in Media notes with optimism that the growing coalition within the party will enhance its capacity to deliver on its vision of equity, justice, and inclusive development.”
According to her, the experience and influence of these stakeholders would reposition ADC as a credible platform for transformative leadership.
“As a strategic advocacy and media-driven platform, ADC Women in Media is committed to advancing the core aims and objectives of promoting women’s inclusion, visibility, and participation within the African Democratic Congress.
“The group works to amplify the voices of women in politics, encourage leadership opportunities, and support policies that ensure gender equity across all levels of governance.” she stated.
In alignment with the broader vision of the ADC, ADC Women in Media actively advocates for increased representation of women in elective and appointive positions, capacity building and mentorship for aspiring female leaders.
“We commend Senator Kwankwaso and other stakeholders for identifying with a political movement that recognizes the importance of inclusion and the critical role women play in nation-building”, she added.
Hannatu further explained that the ADC Women in Media remains resolute in its mission to support and collaborate with all stakeholders who are committed to building a fair, inclusive, and prosperous Nigeria.
