The Kwankwasiyya Movement has petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) against Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s Media Aide, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, and others over allegations of cyberbullying and intimidation.
In the petition signed by the state chairman Hamisu Danzaki, the group accused Bature and his associates of using social media platforms to harass, defame, and threaten members of the Kwankwasiyya political bloc, describing the conduct as a threat to peace and democratic expression.
The movement urged the DSS to investigate the claims and take appropriate action to curb what it called a growing pattern of online intimidation targeting its members.
In the petition dated April 9, 2026, the group further accused several individuals, including aides to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, of orchestrating coordinated defamatory campaigns on social media platforms, particularly Facebook.
The petition reads ” Petition/criminal Complaints against Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa spokesperson to the governor; Salisu Yahaya Hotoro; Ibrahim Adam, Special Adviser on Information and a former media aide to Kwankwaso; Nuhu Dambazau; and Mukhtar S. Yahuza, among others said to be at large.”
The group further alleged that some individuals were involved in sustained cyberbullying, online harassment, and smear campaigns against its leader, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and other figures, including the immediate past Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, and Senator Rufai Sani Hanga, who represents Kano Central at the National Assembly.
