Jaiz Bank Chairman, MD Condole Governor Radda Over Buhari’s Death

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jaiz Bank, Haruna Musa, alongside the Bank’s Board Chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Mohammed Bintube, led a high-powered delegation to Katsina on a condolence visit to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

A statement by Radda’s Chief Press Secretary,  Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, said the delegation was received by the governor at the Government House, Katsina, where they conveyed their heartfelt sympathy to the government and people of the State.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Haruna Musa described the late President as “a national icon whose life of integrity, sacrifice, and principled leadership shaped the course of Nigeria’s history.”

“We are here on behalf of the Board, Management, and entire staff of Jaiz Bank Plc to mourn the passing of Baba Buhari. He was a towering figure whose values deeply aligned with ours—discipline, honesty, and ethical service. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and admit him into Al-Jannah Firdaus,” he said.

Also addressing the Governor, the Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Bintube, described Buhari as “an elder statesman whose unwavering commitment to good governance and national unity continues to inspire generations.”

He acknowledged the late President’s strong support for ethical institutions like Jaiz Bank, especially in pioneering Islamic banking in Nigeria.

While receiving the delegation, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda expressed deep appreciation for the visit and described it as both “timely and deeply consoling.”

He emphasized that the death of President Muhammadu Buhari was not only a loss to Katsina State but to the entire nation. “We have lost a father, a mentor, and a symbol of moral leadership,” he said.

Governor Radda also reaffirmed the special relationship between Jaiz Bank and the late President. “Buhari believed in the ethical foundations of Islamic finance, and Jaiz Bank remains one of the enduring legacies of his vision for a fairer economic system,” he noted.

The Governor urged Jaiz Bank to continue upholding the values for which the former President stood. “You are not just bankers—you are part of our extended family,” he stated.

He concluded by praying for the continued progress of Jaiz Bank and thanked the delegation for being the first financial institution to officially condole the state. “Your solidarity means a lot to us, and it will never be forgotten. May Allah guide and returned to your various destinations.”

The delegation comprised the Bank’s Chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Bintube; former MD of Jaiz Bank, Malam Hassan Usman; Board Member Alhaji Hadi Abdulmutallab; former MD of NDIC, Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim; Executive Director of Jaiz Bank, Alhassan Abdulkarim; and Dr. Abdullateef Bello.
