Gov Sule Remodels Nasarawa Printing Press After 24 Years

The Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has remodelled and inaugurated the Nasarawa Government Printing Press after 24 years of its establishment.

He also equipped the hitherto moribund state government-owned printing press with modern facilities designed to print quality materials that meet the global standards.

Located at the state Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, the printing press was established in 2001 during the administration of Abdullahi Adamu.

Sule, during the ceremonial inauguration of the printing press on Thursday, called one all ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to make effective use of the remodelled facility.

He also directed the state Head of Service to order MDAs to make efficient use of the government printing press by printing all their documents in the agency.

He explained that the project is in-line with his administration policies and programmes geared toward efficient and quality service delivery to the people of the state, especially in the area of printing government’s documents.

He said: “You know that this printing press was built in 2001 and commissioned by the previous administration. We must appreciate the initiative. But most of the equipments went absolete. Today, we are able to fixed in modern equipments that can print quality materials that can compete favorably with the outside world.

“I have directed the Head of Service to give directives to MDAs to make efficient use of the government printing press to print their documents. We have all the machines welled equipped and ready for production”.

The governor who further charged the ministry of information, culture and tourism and the management of the printing press to put their heads and ensure that they produce quality materials that can compete with commercial outfits.

“We can now print our gazzette, banners, calenders, posters in our government printing press which will definitely reduce cost of production in printing government documents . It can also serve as IGR for the state”, Gov Sule stressed.

He stressed that the printing press will also serve as skill aquisition centre where people can go and learn Skills to improve their livelihood

In his remarks, the state commissioner of information, Culture and Tourism , Dr Ibrahim Tanko, assured the ministry’s commitment and determination in ensuring that the make judicious use of the printing press for maximum out put.

He, however, said that the ministry of information who is in charge of the printing press, is going to utilise the equipments adequately as well as protect them against vandalism.
