The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State has witnessed a significant surge in membership registration, with a total of 7,714 new members registered across the 10 council wards of the local government.
The impressive turnout has been attributed to the strategic supervision of the membership registration process by the ADC Pro-tem Chairman of Agatu, Hon. Williams Shagari.
Shagari, while addressing the 10 ward pro-tem chairmen in Obagaji, expressed his appreciation to the pro-tem committees of Agatu ADC for their outstanding achievement in the ongoing membership registration exercise.
He commended the enthusiasm displayed by the members, describing it as a clear demonstration of collective readiness to reclaim a strong opposition party from the PDP and APC administrations.
“The numbers of registered members is electrifying, and I am proud to see our party growing in strength and numbers,” Shagari said.
The Pro-tem Chairman also acknowledged the support of the visionary leader of, H.E Sir John Ngbede, and Rt. Hon. Godwin Abu Edoh, in the ongoing registration process.
He emphasized the importance of strengthening the party’s base at the grassroots level, which is critical to the success of the ADC rescue mission ahead of the 2027 elections.
Shagari called on stakeholders from each council ward to encourage communities and other party members to take advantage of the exercise and register at their respective wards.
The ongoing membership registration exercise is expected to continue until further notice, with the party aiming to increase its membership base and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2027 elections.
The ADC has been working to reposition itself as a strong opposition party in Benue State, and the impressive turnout in Agatu is seen as a positive step towards achieving that goal of over 7,700 members
