120 Katsina Youths Empowered with Crypto literacy, Content Creation Skills

The Katsina Vocational Training Centre has trained 120 youths on crypto market literacy and professional content creation to make them become employers of labour in the digital marketplace.

The beneficiaries trained by the Katsina Vocational Centre (KVC), in collaboration with Paracha Family, were graduated at a ceremony on Tuesday in the state capital.

The Director of centre, Malam Muhammad Danjuma, explained that KVC took cognisance of the large number of youths in the state that have interest in crypto trading and content creation, but lack the technical knowledge to engage in the two businesses.

He explained that, “We have observed that many of them have interest in crypto trading and content creation because it is the new trend and people are making a lot of money from it.

“But these youths lack the technical know-how to engage in these businesses. That is why we assembled them from different parts of the state here.

“We invited experts to train them on the technical and commercial aspects of crypto trading in order to provide them with the capacity to compete favourably in the field.

“Another facilitator also trained them on professional content creation, because it has also become a lucrative venture, hence we want them to have the technical, legal and commercial exposure on it.”

According to him, this is in line with the objectives of KVC, to equip the youths with knowledge and skills on relevant vocations and contemporary business.

Danjuma further disclosed that the centre will train the next batch of youths on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in social media content creation.

Also, the Chairman Katsina Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Malam Tukur Dan-Ali, tasked the beneficiaries to apply the skills they have acquired in order to remain relevant in the digital world.

He commended the organisers for selecting broadcast journalists to also acquire new skills in digital content creation to keep pace with modern trends in video production and dissemination.

“The centre has done well to train our youths and update their knowledge in contemporary fields such as crypto market literacy and digital content creation.

“These skills will help them to compete with their peers in other parts of the world. The founder of KVC, Late MD Yusuf has indeed left a good legacy,” Dan-Ali said.

A lecturer with the Federal University Dustinma, Alh. Ibrahim Ahmad-Keegan, told the youths that in this 21st Century, anyone who does not update his skills in line with the digital age will be left behind,

According to him, “these skills you acquired will help you to remain relevant, and boost your capacity to earn more in your respective fields”, he said.

Some of the beneficiaries commended the organisers of the training, promising to make proper use of the knowledge, especially in stepping it down to their communities.(NAN)
